Walk humbly.

"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

— Micah 6:8

Micah's three-part answer to the biggest question a person can ask is astonishing in its economy: act, love, walk.

Act justly — because the world is bent, and unbending it is holy work. Love mercy — because we are all one bad week from needing more of it than we deserve. Walk humbly — because the God who made galaxies also numbers the hairs on your head, and the appropriate response is quiet awe.

Notice the order. Justice and mercy without humility become weapons. Humility is what makes the other two safe in human hands.

Walk. Not run. Not stand. Walk. Purpose is paced.

walk in it.
